About

Hi, I'm Kristy. Your luxury travel advisor.

I'm a mom of three adult kids, a wife of 36 years to my favorite travel partner, and a lifelong history buff who genuinely can't sit still for long. My husband and I do these trips together, the big ones, the weekend ones, the "let's just drive somewhere" ones , and that's exactly the lens I bring to planning yours. I started Chronicle & Compass Travel, LLC because I wanted a retirement plan that looked like the thing I love most, and I wanted to share that with the people I plan for.

I got into this work to unlock the places, tools, and quiet opportunities I never knew existed before I was on the inside — the room that's actually worth the upgrade, the guide who knows the pride of lions by name, the table at the restaurant that stopped taking reservations a year ago. The kind of access you only get when a real person, with real relationships, is making the calls for you.

I've traveled throughout the U.S., Europe, and Mexico. I live in Las Vegas, where I work as a local Las Vegas travel advisor and a destination wedding travel agent, and spent many years in Chicago, so I'm an expert in both. When I'm not on a road trip or jet-setting, I'm on a cruise. My husband and I have a saying: when you're looking for a restaurant, take two lefts and a right, we prefer to eat where the locals eat. That's how I plan trips, too.

I'm also a card-carrying perfectionist, the kind who reconfirms the reconfirmation, double-checks the seat assignments, and actually reads the resort's renovation schedule before booking the room. It's the trait that makes me a slightly annoying houseguest and an excellent travel advisor.

I won't pretend to be the "creative" one, I'm the researcher. I go deep on every destination, hunting down the weird, unknown, almost-forgotten facts: the side chapel most tourists walk past, the dish only one neighborhood does well, the story behind the statue everyone photographs but no one explains. By the time you land, you'll know things most guides won't tell you.

Chronicle & Compass Travel, LLC is a boutique practice on purpose. I cap the number of clients I take on at any given time so every trip gets the research, the follow-through, and the attention to detail it deserves. I'd rather turn a trip away than compromise on the quality of the one I just promised you.

This practice is built on relationships and trust, so I'd rather you know the human on the other side of the inbox. If we work together, you're not getting a portal and a quote, you're getting me.

Historical Travel

History isn't a stop on the trip, it is the trip.

History is a personal passion of mine, which means I plan history-forward trips differently. Private historians, after-hours access, battlefield guides, and the kind of context that makes a pile of old stones come alive.

Plan a history-forward trip See how I plan historical travel

Ancient Rome

Rome · Pompeii · Ostia Antica · Naples · Sicily

Forum and Colosseum after-hours access, Pompeii with an archaeologist, day trips to Herculaneum and Paestum.

Ancient Greece

Athens · Delphi · Olympia · Crete · Santorini

Acropolis at sunrise with a private guide, Minoan ruins on Crete, island-hop the cradle of Western civilization.

WWII, Europe

Normandy · Berlin · Kraków · Bastogne · London

D-Day beaches with a historian, Auschwitz–Birkenau private guide, Churchill War Rooms, Battle of the Bulge sites.

WWII, South Pacific

Pearl Harbor · Guam · Saipan · Iwo Jima · Manila

USS Arizona Memorial access, Pacific theater cruises that reach battle sites few travelers ever see.

U.S. Civil War

Gettysburg · Antietam · Vicksburg · Shiloh · Charleston

Licensed battlefield guides, Lincoln-era sites in DC, the full Atlanta-to-the-sea Sherman route.

U.S. Revolutionary War

Boston · Lexington & Concord · Philadelphia · Yorktown

Boston's Freedom Trail with a Revolution-era specialist, Independence Hall, Washington's Mount Vernon.

Historical England

London · Bath · York · Stratford · Edinburgh

Tower of London early access, Roman Baths, Hadrian's Wall, Stonehenge inner-circle visit, Shakespeare country.

Historical France

Paris · Versailles · Loire Valley · Mont Saint-Michel · Normandy

Versailles before the crowds, Loire châteaux by private driver, Carcassonne, Bayeux Tapestry, Normandy memorials.

  2. 02

    Discover

We talk through the trip you've been imagining, pace, taste, budget, the people coming with you.

  3. 03

    Design

I draft an itinerary with the rooms, routes and reservations that suit you, not a template.

  4. 04

    Confirm

We refine, then I handle every booking, document and detail end-to-end.

Kind words

From travelers who've come home and started planning the next one.

"Kristy was very professional, thorough, and friendly. She really listened to what we needed and did whatever she possibly could to provide all our requests. Both my husband and I are mobility impaired and she went above and beyond and made our air, land, bus, transfers and embarkation, all which included wheelchairs, seamless. I am looking forward to planning our next adventure with her."
— Margaret I.Cruise
"Kristy is awesome. I have never used a travel agent before this trip. Kristy helped us coordinate through weather delays and took care of our modified hotel and rental car issues. She communicated with us daily and did everything to make sure we were taken care of."
— Scott D.Tennessee trip
"Kristy was so helpful in finding places to stay for a last minute road trip. I gave some simple requests and a general location; each time she chose a unique place to stay that made our trip even more special and meaningful."
— Charity G.California road trip
